“Look deep into nature and you will understand everything better “ – Albert Einstein
Through asking questions:
What is the purpose of shoes?
Why are shoes not shaped after the foot?
Nature was created to inspire people to live a conscious lifestyle and to challenge a thought pattern “this is way we always been doing it”.
My name is Eik Braun Ottosen and I am the proud founder of Nature.
The quality speaks for itself – step into a pair of Nature and feel it yourself.
We believe by improving the quality and doing better everyday, this is the best marketing for Nature.
From growing up in Denmark – we adapted the Danish design mantra, which is simple design with functionality.
Nature is handmade in Portugal, from old artisan traditions, using a moccasin construction and a very flexible sole.
Your Nature shoes are built to last, but if it does break it can be repaired and its possible to re-place the soles after they are worn down, this is real sustainability.
Challenge everything – assume nothing.
Why are shoes not made after your feet?
This was the question I asked myself, back in 2013 after walking barefoot 1 year.
The human foot is a strong and complex mechanical structure containing 26 bones, 33 joints and more than a hundred muscles, tendons, and ligaments – shoes should be designed with this in mind.
From having the foot as the base for designing, Nature was then developed together with podiatrist and shoe experts.
OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT
By choosing the name Nature, we feel responsible by minimizing our environmental footprint.
Most of the leathers we use are organic, shoelaces organic cotton.
Too minimize our CO2 output from transport; we produce locally in Europe (Portugal).
Suppliers and sub-suppliers in Europe are also easier to control than Asia.
Our goal is that Nature will be 100% sustainable and leave no trace back too mother nature – we are not there yet, but we do the best we can everyday to get closer to our goal.
