How to find your shoe size – step by step
Stand on a flat surface with your heel against a wall or other vertical surface.
Measure the length of your foot by placing a ruler on the floor along the inside of your foot. Take the measurement (mm) from the wall/surface to your longest toe. That's the length!
Remember to measure both of your feet! Not all feet are the same length – and if that is the case with your feet, choose the size that fits the largest foot.

Why is the correct shoe size important?

How do I measure my feet?
For the most accurate measurement, we recommend using a stiff tape measure or ruler and measuring in millimeters. Stand barefoot with your heel lightly pressed against a wall on a hard, flat surface. Place a piece of paper or tape measure perpendicular to the wall and mark where the longest toe ends. Repeat the process for the other foot – it is normal for there to be a 2–3 mm difference. Use the largest measurement and add 5–8 mm for room to move when looking up our size chart. Take the measurement at the end of the day, when your feet are often the most swollen, to ensure that your shoes don’t end up pinching.
What does size 8 correspond to?
Size 8 in the UK system converts differently depending on gender. For men, UK 8 corresponds to EU 42, while for women it corresponds to EU 41. Both sizes cover a foot length of approximately 27.4 centimeters. If you are unsure whether you need a half size up or down, you can compare the exact millimeter value from your measurement with the length column in our chart to find the most accurate fit. Remember that different brands can vary slightly, so always use the Nature chart as your primary reference when purchasing our shoes.
How do you measure the width of a foot?
The best way to measure width is to stand flat on the floor, preferably with a slight weight distribution on the foot you are measuring. Place the measuring tape across the forefoot at its widest point – typically from the base of the little toe to the base of the big toe (ball of the foot). Pull the measuring tape around, without tightening it too much, but not so loose that it slips down. Record the measurement in millimeters, and repeat on the other foot. Compare the result with the “Width (mm)” column in our size guide; if you find yourself between two width categories, we usually recommend the larger width for the best comfort, especially if you tend to have swollen feet at the end of the day.
How much space should there be in shoes?
The general rule of thumb is to allow 5–8 millimeters of extra length in front of your longest toe when standing upright. This extra space allows your foot to expand naturally throughout the day and during activity where the toes push slightly forward. It also prevents unnecessary friction and blue nails that can occur if the shoes are too small. If you plan to wear extra thick socks or insoles, you should consider going up half a size so that you still maintain the recommended distance. The preferred space may also differ depending on the type of shoe, e.g. boots .
